Jamie Macpherson (Banjo)- Jamie has performed on Caribbean cruises, festivals in the US, Scotland, England and return performances in Denmark. He is also an active member of the Hamilton Harbourtown Sound Chorus. Jamie performed solo for the 25th anniversary gala event of the Stratford Express. He has been a regular performer for the past decade bringing this quintet to the PEC Jazz Festival.
Brigham Phillips (Trumpet) – has been on the Toronto music scene nearly 40 years as a player (piano and trumpet), bandleader, teacher, producer, composer and arranger, performing jazz, pop, Dixieland, theatre and orchestral music. His CD “And It Really Was” featuring Canadian jazz greats Guido Basso and Mike Murley was nominated for a Juno in 2002 and won Brigham the National Jazz Award for Producer of the Year.
Tom Skublics (Clarinet) – A member of the Shaw Festival pit orchestra since 1998, Tom is a Humber College Graduate. An accomplished player of all the saxes, clarinets, flute and piccolo, he is one of the most in-demand jazz, popular, cabaret, Klezmer, Dixieland, pit orchestra, and recording session musicians in Canada. Tom has played in many Toronto productions, including Bat Out of Hell, Beauty and the Beast, Crazy for You, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera and Showboat.
Peter Turner (Trombone) – Peter Turner is most known for his work in the traditional jazz and swing scenes of Ottawa and Toronto. In Ottawa, where he resides, Peter performs regularly with Bob Misener’s Magnolia Rhythm Kings, as well as with Peter Liu and the Pollcats. Peter performed across Canada with the Derek Robertson Jazz Band from 1988 to 2000, and has been a frequent substitute with the Apex Jazz Band.
Doug Burrell (Tuba) – Doug Burrell has been performing professionally in the Greater Toronto Area since the late 1970’s. He is much in demand both as a jazz tubist and as a classical artist having played with numerous ensembles including Borgy’s Banjo Reunion, the Juno Award winning NOJO jazz orchestra, The Dixie Demons , the Brian Barlow Brass and Drums and Jeff Healey’s Jazz Wizards.
