2016 South Bay Cabernet Franc – Michael Pinkus

This is the very first time Cabernet Franc from South Bay Vineyard has been featured on its own in a bottle of Huff wine, which goes to show what an exceptional vintage 2016 was. The wine spent 18 months in French oak, 30% of it new. The resulting wine is one Huff fans should be talking about for years (and drinking over the next decade); aromas of raspberry and smoky-cassis which join black cherry and tobacco on the palate … a great black fruit driven core with a smoky exterior and balanced acidity to complete the ensemble.
